Don’t Ask, Don’t Get

Another week closer, and just 60 days to go – fundraising and training seem to be on track, I even managed a decent longer ride at the weekend.

I found out last week that the main reason I was cycling to Benidorm in the first place at such an early time of the year has disappeared. But, as the trip has been in planning for well over a year, it’s still Benidorm all the way for me in April, despite the tougher training weather and a preferable destination of Tarifa, right at the southern tip of Spain. Maybe next year, right?

Luckily, my wonderful partner (who shivers every time I mention Benidorm) and some good friends stepped up so I’ll still have a welcome party waiting with a cerveza fría at the end (and my bike box), so all’s well that ends well.

With exactly two months to go as of today, one of my key worries is that I am banging on about the ride a lot. I don’t want to get on your nerves, but, at the same time, I need to keep up the momentum. All the while I’m hammering the bike in the gym or on the road, it can get quite lonely, so the thought of getting the message out there and making sure I hit my target is the thing I’m focusing on most. So sorry, not so sorry, I need to keep pushing and need to keep asking the question.

With that in mind, we’re having a quiz on March 28th, being run and sponsored by Beaufort Financial, with 1,000,000% support of the dynamo that is Mark Dolby.

It’s £125 for a table of five, with ALL entry money going to the charity. We’ll also have prizes, a raffle and a free buffet. You can buy your table online (7 left as of this morning).

We also need lots of raffle prizes if you have anything you could add. Please email me if you can help.

Special thanks this week to Graeme Black, and Mel and Nigel Roberts for the donations this week, we’re up to £6,810.
